Credit repair to rent an apartment or house.
Most landlords run a credit check before they hand over keys. If collections, late payments or an old eviction are sitting on your report, the application can be denied before anyone reads it. We clean up what's inaccurate and give you a plan for the rest — so the next application is one you can get approved on.

What landlords look at.
- Credit score — most screening services flag anything under 620, and premium buildings often want 650–700+.
- Collections and charge-offs — especially utility, phone, medical and prior-landlord collections.
- Late payments in the last 24 months — a pattern of 30/60/90-day lates is a red flag for rent.
- Evictions and rental-debt judgments — these can appear on tenant-screening reports even after they leave your credit report.
- Income and rent-to-income ratio — usually 2.5x to 3x the monthly rent.

Questions, answered honestly.
What credit score do you need to rent an apartment?
There is no single national minimum, but many landlords and screening services use 620 to 650 as a cutoff, and competitive buildings in large cities often want 670 or higher. Some private landlords will rent below 600 with a larger deposit or a co-signer.
Can collections be removed before I apply for a rental?
Collections can be disputed when they are inaccurate, unverifiable, duplicated, past the reporting period, or reported with wrong balances or dates. An accurate, verifiable collection cannot be removed, but paying or settling it and documenting that can still change how a landlord reads your file.
How long does credit repair take before renting?
Each dispute round takes 30–45 days because the bureaus have 30 days to investigate. Many clients see first results in the first round; most engagements run three to six months. If you have a lease deadline, tell us on the application and we prioritize the items most likely to block a rental approval.
Will CreditFixScore talk to my landlord?
No. We work on your credit reports with the bureaus and furnishers. We can give you a written summary of what is in dispute that you can share with a property manager.
